Pilates for advanced students: the classes offered in Zurich

Experienced participants can attend all Pilates classes at the Pilates Stube, although the “Pilates Advanced Flow” course is specifically aimed at participants with Pilates experience. This workout is definitely Pilates for advanced users and focuses on strength paired with balance, coordination, stability and mobility.

For the “Pilates Advanced Flow” course you should be healthy and have no acute injuries or ailments. If in doubt, please contact us in advance.

How do the advanced courses differ from the beginners' workouts?
With Pilates for beginners, you first learn the basics of the Pilates method and have time to learn how to perform the exercises correctly. With Pilates for advanced participants, you have already internalized the basics and want to achieve certain training goals. These can be, for example, improved general fitness, more stability or more strength.

Is the demanding Pilates training suitable for losing weight?
The perfect body with a flat stomach and a slim silhouette – that’s certainly what many people dream of. But can you actually lose weight with Pilates? Pilates alone will surely not be enough for this. In combination with a healthy diet and other sports, power classes like “Pilates Advanced Flow” can certainly help you lose weight and get firmer skin. At the same time, regular exercise stabilizes the body and ensures a healthy, upright posture. So you are definitely doing something for your fitness and health, even if Pilates is not primarily designed for losing weight.

What is the difference between yoga and Pilates?
Both methods are similar because they are aimed at mobility, strengthening and improved body awareness. While Pilates focuses on strengthening muscles and improving posture, yoga is an ancient Indian philosophical teaching whose goal is to unite body, mind, and soul.
